Swapped out a replacement speedo for the original after I fixed it, and now the gauge lights don't work. Checked the bulbs, they are fine. The multi-gauge lights don't work either. Found this while searching. Can't believe my fat fingers did something to screw this up, but, maybe so. The #12 fuse is fine, I spun it a few times too.
'The lights for coolant temperature indicator, fuel gauge, speedometer illumination, and tachometer illumination, linked to the instrument panel potentiometer, are on current track II/7 which connects to heater control, clock, voltmeter, oil pressure, and clock on track III/10 which goes through the emergency flasher switch to the hazard/turn signal flasher.
If the emergency flasher switch works, and the high beam indicator light work, odds are the ground near the fuse/relay board and/or the ground near the distributor is faulty. But as scm924s recommends, all grounds should be tended to. Replacement of the fuse box isn't advisable until grounds, fuses, appropriate relays, and wiring continuities are checked.'
Are the grounds mentioned by the fuse/relay board the ones attached to the body up above? The ones you can really only reach with the dash out? Or, is there one more I'm not aware of? Maybe the ground pin on the multi-pin plug pulled out some, but nothing visual there. The center console lights work, flashers, etc., all work. Just those little bastage light bulbs! _________________ '83 944 Track car.
