Well the 924 land speed build is progressing to the point where I need to get busy sourcing an upgraded clutch that will handle the application and neither of my old favorites (Exedy and ACT) offer anything beyond an OEM replacement unit. My consern is that an OEM replacement may not handle the increased torque.
To date I've only found one maker (SPEC) who offer anything beyond a OEM package. I'd really appreciate any leads on other suppliers who offer upgraded clutch packages, as well as any feedback on SPEC stage 1 or 2 clutch users.

SPEC clutches have a good reputation, Centerforce do not, although I have no direct experience with either. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Are you planning on running the original 924 na driveline?
Or thats probably a stupid question...
What kind of driveline are you planning on running?
I'm assuming you need much taller gearing... If you can get away with running a 931 bellhousing/clutch/torque tube you would have much stronger options as far as clutch and transmissions... And with a 931 snail trans you may be able to source gear sets to get you the ratios you need because it would accept 911 gears and would be the strongest trans as far as torque transfer pretty much of them all, with less weight and better center of gravity.
But then your looking at a 931 clutch not a 924, AFAIK the 924 trans doesnt like to take massive power.. _________________ 80 Turbo - Slightly Modified |

The naturally aspirated class I'm running (Classic Production) has a lot of limitations since the spirit of the class is a "fairly" stock set up (meaning the parts had to be from a make and model of that car).
With that in mind, it will be a stock driveline (016 snailshell) with altered gearing. The engine is a 2 liter 13.7:1 NA block with a fairly extensively reworked Turbo head, fed by twin 48mm Webers and a custom header. The power won't be especially impressive, but iven the 924's low aero drag, I'm hoping that will be sufficient to top 160. _________________ '79 NA 924 Land Speed Car

Stock NA clutch has been tested to 200hp on turbo/supercharged conversions of NA cars.
I suspect, but haven't proven it yet, that given the Audi nature of the engine and the compatibility of the starters with Audi sedans that a slightly Bette clutch might be available from someone like 034 Motorsports, etc. _________________ Stefan
