Parasitic loss through the belts vs gain = low
Mechanical failure to excessive parts = high
In the long run a simple bolt on fairly cheap to produce part is what you want, if you cant do this for under $500 then there are better alternatives for picking up 10hp, cam swap and programmable ignition would be a viable alternative _________________ 1981 ROW 924 Turbo -

Or spend your time and money dropping in a 1.8T VW/Audi lump in and get an easy 225++bhp _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

On its timing chain variocam motors Porsche used to do something similar:

White 01 986 "Christine"
Polar Silver 02 996TT. "Turbo"
Owned and repaired 924s since 1977

The engine swap is going to end up costing around $2000. I have almost everything I need to finish just waiting on the machine shop. |
