Hello everyone,
This is my first post in this forum. I have Porsche 924 2.0L engine manufactured in 1985 and am having some hot start issues. After reading a lot in this forum I have changed the fuel accumulator as it was jammed and am about to change the warm up regulator as it is not working 100%.
While I was at it I realised that there is another part which is not working. From what Haynes book stated it is called a Frequency valve and on it there is the following information "Pierburg 7.20525.01 - germany 12V 3115".
I really can't find it online and wanted to ask here if anyone know where i can buy this part new or 2nd hand.
The following link has 2 photos of it : https://www.dropbox.com/sh/mga63qp7f6181o0/AABZ2kudAeguOsDdiKnbMiFVa?dl=0
Thanks for reading my post !! |

Electric Solenoid: Pierburg 7.20525.01 12V 1328
page 87 Haynes, Chapter 3 Fuel, emission control and exhaust systems, §20 Electric solenoid.
You'll find a similar part in old Solex and Pierburg carburators on the smaller VW engines of the same era.
They call it the "Main jet cover plug".
If you have a carburetor shop on the island it might be worth a call/visit.
HTH
Kind regards,
Harm.
PS. Are you sure the thing is shot? Apply ~12 volts to it; All it does is flip in or out: Block or unblock. _________________ Porsche 924 NA 1982 LY7A/A3A3 _ Greater driving pleasure never harmed anyone.

Thanks a lot for your detailed message mate. So it is NOT a Frequency valve, it's an electric solenoid. I must have read it wrongly.
Have you any idea what the 1328 on it means ? Mine has 3115 engraved on it.
Thanks |

I don't know. Probably a production type thing.
Does it still work? |

It should only work (on the car) when the engine is hot.
Now you have it on your desk, is it stil not working, either in or out?
There can't be much wrong to it.
It hooks up/through to a temp. censor. so it will only engage during hot start.

A second electric connection is earth: If you come across a single connector type, make sure the bracket makes ground through the body (or strap an extra cable to it).
Focus: A replacement part should have the same blockage diameter, or it won't help. |
