got a real nice tri-y header for 18 bucks, and a lihted rear "porsche" heckblende for 22.
Also new hatch pin locks for 3, a vaccuum canister for 1, and a few other things for a buck.
SUPER SCORE!
Getting the header off sucked, can only imagine how much fun it will be to install on the car.
Going back out in a few days too. This yard is cheap, and the car is filled with awesomeness.
Its Wilberts in Williamson NY, if anyone is local. They have 2 78s in decent shape. _________________ 1979 924

Oops. I read that a little too quickly this morning... more coffee is needed.
I haven't been able to get one in on the car without lowering the cross-member or similar antics, once the head's in... _________________ Vaughan Scott

It is going to suck. I may end up just sandblasting, painting, and wrapping it, then selling it _________________ 1979 924

It really isn't that bad to drop the crossmember. Just remove the steering rack and control arms from it and then drop it.
Pull the oil filter, alternator and starter, old exhaust and the various heat shields.
Install the header, test fit heat shields, trim or leave some off and fabricate any connector tubing and add an extra hanger to the front of the Torque Tube.
Reinstall starter, alternator and replace and protect the wiring.
Don't wrap the header, get it ceramic coated, it will work better and last longer. _________________ Stefan
