Hi,
I have a 81 924 na row rhd.
I have read about mould build up in the havoc. The stainless steel mesh is the only inlet and doesn't have a pollen filter installed. Crap gets injustice into the system and just sits there rotting, every time it rains I can smell it in the vents. I have removed all carpets the negate this being the cause and am tracking down each item. The car sits outside always and has a few minor leaks, but they are now self draining. I have also made up a try's to hold desiccant to remove moisture and smells, it's working well.
There was a post which advised cleaning the top of the heater box as this is where all of the crap landed. I have sprayed finger in through the mesh to kill of the mould, noting this isn't a cure, just a mitigamt.
Has anyone installed a pollen filter or modified the intake to keep the crap out, any photos?
Also is there a flushing point or drain from the vac for the condensate?
Appreciate your responses. I'm sure this is an issue most of us have.
Cheers
