Ok i first switched my thermofan switch because i thought thats why it was getting really close to over heating then i changed my water pump and its still getting pretty hot, i just recently switched my cap and rotor and spark plugs,it wasnt running for a couple months, now while im driving sometimes the engine starts skipping like in a jumpy hesitating type of way,and also there seems to be white smoke coming out of the heat shield area where the spark plugs are at its always done that ever since i got it,what should i check next?

Blown headgasket. Time to replace it.

When cold, check for bubbles in the cooling system, open the radiator cap and look at the coolant, no bubbles should be present.

You can also use a cooling system pressure tester to ensure the system is sealed, some parts stores have them available for loan/rent.

A compression test might show a compression difference between cylinders if it is badly blown. A compression leakdown test is a better indicator, but requires more specialized tooling and training.

While you've got it apart to do the headgasket, take the radiator to a radiator shop and have it rebuilt. It won't be cheap, but you'll never have to do it again and the car will not overheat. Replace the coolant hoses if you haven't while you're in there and ensure you bleed the cooling system properly.

check the solid coolant pipe from the back of the head to the t/stat is not blocked.
This can block up at the Y section and the rear of the head will get very hot.
Funny enough this is where the temp sender is.
