Will be in Atlanta in 15th of December to tune few 951's and after few days heading down to Florida in 951, any members down there to meet and perhaps have a beer?
I'll be around until January 5th, so have plenty of time to look around. Will be with my wife and kid. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

| I'm about 55 miles south of Atlanta. You'll pass right by me on your way to Florida. Atlanta to Key West is one hell of a drive. Be careful. |

Thanks! I will know the exact plan ~few weeks before trip.
Is there anything specific to be beware of? I have driven a car in Russia, that must be the craziest place to drive, even West Africa (Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria) weren't that bad _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

I don't mean to be a debbie downer but I myself would drive courteously around Atlanta, lest you get shot at..
True story, I was in middleschool at the time, maybe 11-13 years old, and on my way to Florida on I75..
Anyway we had some pocket pointer lasers and we were playing with them lasering things as we went down the road. Next thing we know some guy zoomed over to us from like 4 lanes away, rolled down his window and pulled out his pistol.
When he realized it was just us kids he yelled "My pistol has a laser too!!" and then yelled some other stuff to the people in the front of the car and zoomed away again..
Myself, I'd stay the F out of there unless I was prepared to return fire..

| I've been working in Atlanta for 12 years. I've never even seen a gun. You need to worry more about crazy ass drivers. I've witness at least ten fatal accidents. If you feel like it make a stop in Macon and I'll meet up with you there maybe get a bite to eat you could have a drink but I gave up drinking so I'll let you have all the beer. LoL. Macon is about 40 miles from me and you'll likely feel like a stop by then anyway since it's around 110 miles from Atlanta. |

It is never a good idea to drive like a dick, anywhere.
But apparently you have not been in Russia where it is totally normal to ram others when they piss you off or wave a gun Baseball bats and similar "accessories" are totally normal there. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

I'm sure you'll be fine..if in doubt/trouble just apply Russian logic
We also have the "accesories" here in Romania. I used to carry a smal hand axe but we've grown more civilized lately so i only carry a police baton now. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

Here's some ideas of cool stuff to see and do in Hotlanta:
https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/cool-stuff-in-atlanta/106782/page1/
and of course there's Daytona Speedway and its Museum, Disney World (if you're a glutton for punishment) in Orlando.
There's the Grassroots Motorsports Magazine HQ in Ormond Beach which is pretty neat to visit as they usually have some cool cars and projects on display and the occasional snack, etc. You can drop them a line on their website to see what's going on during the time you'll be traveling. They also know Florida pretty well and can point you in the direction of some great spots to visit, eat, etc. _________________ Stefan

They don't exist. Nice and affordable do not belong in the same sentence when talking about a resort area. _________________ '81 931

Watch out for the pink triangle flag hotels down in Key West. I went down there for a power boat race one year and we took the "best deal" hotel. Turns out that it catered to the gay clientele (not that there is anything wrong with that) and that was why the rooms were so economical. The rooms were fine but the scene around the pool made some of the guys I was with a little uncomfortable and probably was not fit for children. _________________ Its only money, you can always get more.

Lol Thanks for the advice! But I still managed to find a decent place to stay in Islamorada, not the cheapest but reasonable considering the usual going rates. And seems to be straight _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

All this travel advice brought to by the USA tourist office - welcome to America
PS I hope you have 6 hours to kill in passport and customs control when you arrive!! Eastern European accents go down really well at the moment. _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife
