|
|
Hello fellow 924 enthusiasts,
I have opened a Pandora's box full of problems with my 77. It started when I accidentally bumped the light switch while working on the car. The headlights were prevented from opening by the bra I had on the nose. That burned up my headlight lift motor. I found a used motor, but it didn't work. Tried another used motor and that one didn't work. While messing around with it I blew several fuses. I decided to bring it to my local wrench and he fried the headlight switch. Now I need a switch and another motor and who knows what else.
I'm wondering what the compatibility is for the motor and switch. I found this online:
PORSCHE 944 83-91
PORSCHE 924 77-82
PORSCHE 924 86-88
Can anyone confirm that these years and models are compatible fit these parts?
Thanks _________________ 1977.5 924

Be careful. The early cars had the same plastic housing but a different pin-out, so I would not assume that the later switches will work *electrically* with your early car.
The best thing to do is to check what PET says about the part number and see if it's actually the same or where the split on part number might occur. I suspect somewhere around 1979-80 based on what I've seen in my early vs. late cars. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it. |

*Context* my dear Watson: "The headlights were prevented from opening by the bra I had on the nose. "
BTW - Thanks Ideola for the suggestion re: the PET numbers. I was able to search for the part and found one at Auto Atlanta for a mere 17.00. Now all I need to do is find a compatible, working lift motor. (And, hopefully, I don't have any hidden wiring issues.) _________________ 1977.5 924

Hopefully your product actually shows up from Auto Atlanta.
Personally, I'd have bought from AutoHausAZ or another vendor, but I wish you luck. _________________ Stefan
