Had the wipers off & the motor & linkage separated and now when the blades park they do it in the middle of the windshield. The Haynes manual says to let them run for 4 minutes & then find out where they park or something like that.

... any idea on the proper process to deal with this design ?

So this is the behaviour: when i trigger the wipers to move, they first go down & then they go up (repeating). This is why I set them to park in the middle; so that the sweep was right (the coverage of the windshield was good & the blades aren't hitting anything), but now they sit in the middle of the windshield. Any ideas?
