Hi Guys - Anybody know of anywhere/anyone who might stock Little End Bushes p/n 059 105 431 for the 924/931 con rod?
I have obviously tried all the usual suspects such as EBS, Paragon, Auto.Az, etc. Is there somebody else I should be trying?
Cheers Pete |

About 3-4 years ago a porsche master mechanic friend handed me a set and said "Hang onto these, they're getting hard to find..." which was code for: Porsche was going to stop making them available...
I believe they're NLA. If you find someone with a NOS set sitting on a shelf, buy the set, or maybe two because they're getting hard to find... |

Yup! NLA! Wanna sell your set? Or two or three?
Geez this is getting to be a real pain in the a... |

I've had them made. Not for stock 24mm wrist pins but for 22mm pins to use VW flat top pistons... Cost me around 50usd for all four and get them installed. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

Yeah, I can't imagine these bushes being that big of a deal...seems like it should be pretty easy to have a reasonably equipped machine shop turn some out on a lathe...
...I hadn't encountered this yet because my Crower rods have integral bushes. At the moment, I am leaning toward stock rods with clearanced block on the post-UWB stroker that is in the works, so I will need these eventually.
Pete, I'm sure you can find a machine shop there to do the work, but if you guys want, I can certainly look into having some made up over here. Or maybe min could do some on his lathe? Or maybe there's an interchange available somewhere? What are the specs on the bush, anyone know? _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

| OK guys, I've finally got some measurements. Width of little end of con rod is 28mm. Internal diameter is 24mm ie. wrist pin contact area. While the external diameter is 27.5mm. The guy who took the measurements says the bush appears to be made from steel!!! Can anyone who has a con rod handy confirm what the bushing material is made from. On such a vital part, given I'm going to have to find someone to make something up, I certainly don't want to stuff up. Thanks Pete |

Aluminum bronze is a common material for this part.

It's definitely not steel, it's a bronze alloy. Your machine shop will have this material in stock. _________________ Teaching my son that there is just as much fun knowing how your car works as there is driving it.

According to Kolbenschmidt it is actually made of sintered copper lead on steel base _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

I think that may be talking about big end and main bearings
PeterID, I have had this done cheaply by engine machinist in the past. I can recommend a guy I use in Sydney: Harris engines, cnr Queen St & Milperra Rd Revesby _________________ Over the top of skyline, total brake failure.... hit the wall at over 200 kp/h at the dipper, so anyone who has to brake for the esses is a pussy.
