Anyone have information on bearings for the NA TT ? I saw one website that listed Super Bearings but for the 944 / 928 . .. and about $600 at that. A bit too much for a weekend driver. Maybe worth it for you racing folks .. . but not for weekend jaunts. _________________ 1980 924 NA, M471

The 924 NA uses bearings with the same OD as the 924 Turbo and 944, but the ID is smaller.
I think if you ask the guys that make those super bearings, they could make up a set for the 924 NA, but really aside from the hassle of removal and installation, it isn't that bad.
I found my bearings through a local bearing supplier after doing some research here on the proper sizes and specs. I think it was about $80 and I was able to reuse the cups and spacers.
If your bearing holders and spacers get damaged during removal, budget extra time and expense for a machine shop to make new ones for you.
I followed the instructions of Clarks-Garage.com _________________ Stefan

any chance you know part numbers? or have size numbers for reference? I have inquired about this car, & just asking in case I wind up with it, which would be my first Porsche, so I can look up bearing places to try to find if I need to. |
