Hey guys,
Have not been around for a while. I initially had a 924 with a stuck fuel dizzy which I fixed and it was running well for a while. Then a few weeks ago it died and I could not work out why. On a recent close look at why it was not working I discovered that I only had a spark on one or two cylinders per cycle (not enough to get it started at least). My problem is that this car does not have points like it should but a hot spark module installed in their place. I am not sure where to start.
I think that the coil is reading ok, something like 1.5 ohms over the + - terminals, but I have no way of really telling if the hot spark module is ok or not. I am not even 100% sure if the factory coil is ok with the hot spark module (pertronix suggest a new coil with there module).
The other thing throwing me is that I dont really understand the ballast resistor or what I should do with it in my coil readings or for that matter if I replace the coil.
Also I have a few workshop manuals for this car but not sure how the hot spark will effect the readings they want me to take. Before I got to this point I installed new dizzy cap and rotor and replaced the plug leads. Any advice most appreciated because right now I am stuck.
Oh and the tacho is not working and has not for a little while (could this be related?) _________________ 1977 924 NA Auto |
