Holy moly.
After staring at the oily mess for a bit, I decided the path of least resistance was to pull the motor.
Amazing crap ton of work. R&I book time is 20+ hours!
Glad the client is doing it...the car is very deserving.
Punch line? Don't complain about working on a 931...it is NOTHING.

Ha, I can attest to that after pulling the engine from my '86 951 part out project! It makes one think that whoever designs some of this crap has no conception that it may need to come apart some day...but of course that's been a mechanic's bitch for years ! _________________ '95 BMW 318i/5 ..."Pearl"

951's are kind of like "let's how hard I can make it to do this operation", repeated over and over and over.
My NA Spec car was peanuts compared to it. _________________ 1987 924S SPEC car

| Absolutely. They pack everything thing under the hood so tight. A major detraction from the overall experience. |

I still remember doing a clutch in my 89 cab.... Although nothing beats changing a head gasket in a 98 toyota town ace van. _________________ Over the top of skyline, total brake failure.... hit the wall at over 200 kp/h at the dipper, so anyone who has to brake for the esses is a pussy.
