Got a call from my wife last night as I was driving home from visiting a race team sponsor (aka dropping in at the brewery). She explained there's this guy here with a really cool woody station wagon, the "Certified Car Nut" guy, he's doing a piece on barn finds of Michigan, and saw the 931 in the driveway!

Exciting, he digs the car!

DAMMIT, it's not a barn find, it runs!!!1111!1!!ELEVEN!!

Saw the Woodie parked around the corner at Vinsetta Garage on my way home... so sounds like he's gonna stop by today... guess I'd better scrape some of the worst mess off the car... too many projects, not enough time...

For a once very active 924 owner its about time you get back into the 924 more often.
I love my S1 931, i think its the best car i have ever been into, driven and owned.

No kidding! Did take the 931 'round the block yesterday before they stopped by, just 'cause. Was definitely happier for the exercise!

Major obstacles now: ambient heat without much contribution from the AC (needs a thorough going-through) and turbo rebuild (eating a spectacular amount of oil - 1/2qt in 25 miles). Some lingering poor electrical connections and a leaking clutch master don't help, but are easier to deal with of course.

Just have to find time to pull the turbo for service... but I have still 3 race weekends in the next month, so that ain't happenin'.

As it is, still gotta pound out and repaint Merritt's racecar (the #77 924) from the last crash, and replace the busted alternator and weak starter, so she can race Aug 6th. So the Turbo won't be getting any love 'till after that...

PS - they did stop by last night for the photo shoot. I'm sure the neighbors were wondering what now, or what next... from racing, to photo shoot in the driveway... what are these crazy people going to get up to next!!
