| Hello everyone. I've recently purchased a 1979 Porsche 924 from a junkyard in an effort to save it from being crushed, and now I'm stumped on where to start. It still has the engine and transmission, but it's in pretty rough shape inside, outside and mechanically. Where should I begin? This is my first Porsche and my first 924 as well. |

Hey welcome to the board!
Just a heads up, it'll be a while before anyone sees this over here in the How-To section. You'll probably want to re-post it over in the General Discussions section in order to get it some attention.
Also, I can pretty much promise you that one of the first things people will suggest is that you put the year and model of your car in your signature (via your profile settings) so that they don't always have to refer back to your first post or ask you every time.
Good luck!
PS - and get ready for a flood of questions asking for more details! _________________ '81 US 931 "Rochelle" |

I would try to make sure the engine runs
If the engine doesn't run you might be looking at an engine rebuild or engine swap which would be the longer work and also more pricey.
interior is pretty easy to reassemble and parts aren't hard to find on the web.
Once you can at least move the car you can then work your way up to interior.
I would keep exterior for the end as you might damage your repainted bodywork when working on the rest of the car. _________________ 1979 924 NA |
