|
|
Fuel return/cold start line stripped. I can catch the last few threads but afraid to tighten. Could I just glob some sort of fuel resistant paste all over it like liquid cement to seal it or what? Just cover all the outside so even if there is a leak it is contained by the cement?
It'd be extremely disgusting and risky but really my only shot without finding some over priced part on ebay _________________ 1980 Porsche 924 Weissach Commemorative Edition |

You answered it yourself, extremely disgusting and risky, you don't want a fuel line to come apart under any circumstance. As for sourcing the part, you don't need ebay when you have access to this site, if you put a post in the for sale/wanted section you'll likely find someone willing to sell you the part for cheap. _________________ 1981 924 Weissach edition

You being serious ? Well, um, maybe because it's a pressurized fuel line inside a motor compartment with a red hot header / exhaust manifold. And when, not if, it springs a leak, there is a very good chance your car will burn. Maybe with you in it...
That's why.
Fuel lines are cheap and readily available, just ask.

I hear you. No need to get mad. Just bouncing ideas.
What about JB Weld Thread repair? Use a different 12mm bolt and then clean it up? I think that would work nicely.
And then.. Probably for a couple months place a shield between the dizzy and block to prevent leaks from getting to the "red hot block" _________________ 1980 Porsche 924 Weissach Commemorative Edition |

Make sure you have zero deductible insurance so you can afford to buy a Honda next.
Please buy the needed parts to do this correctly.
