Replaced a ton of parts to give the ignition / fuelling systems a full refresh, but I still can't get a steady idle.
It wants to sit at around 1700 rpm, then occasionally drops down to 1000 rpm, which is where I'd like it. The only consistent thing I've noticed is that when the fan kicks in it drops. I wouldn't of thought under normal conditions that it would have this much affect on the idle?
My airscrew is 4 turns out btw.
The only other thing to mention is that I get a regular popping sound from the exhaust, as if it's over fuelling when the idle is high? I've disconnected the CSV just in case this is causing an issue but it didn't seem to make a difference.
Any ideas? _________________ '84 924 2.0 NA |

Have you replaced all the vacuum lines in addition to ignition/fueling refresh? These cars are real sensitive to vacuum leaks. _________________ 1980 Porsche 931

I've been through all the vacuum lines, however, I do need to do a smoke test to see if there's a leak in the intake system somewhere. _________________ '84 924 2.0 NA |
