I have spent much, much, more than one should on a 924 - all original and new part from germany gear box, interior & heaps more.

Unfortunately the repairers don't share my passion. following a complete bare metal re-spray the engine bay was done & the last remaining firewall sound proofing material was purchased but the repairer did not glue the material and it has fallen and melted behind the engine.

Porsche advises that it was the last one in stock.

I have tried several motor trimmers and still no answer to this dilema.

Does any one know of, or have contacts that may know of where I can source either an original unused sound proofing or come across a trimmer with the skills to actually make one.

Regards
patrick

Its like thick rubber..are nt there metal tabs that fold over to hold it in place also man Id go talk to the repairer(installer) and say look what happend and ask for retribution.

retribution-Something given or demanded in repayment, especially punishment.

whan Porsche say it's the last one in stock do they mean in Oz or the last one on the planet. Give SVM Porsche in Sydney a call (02) 9958 0900 and get a second opinion.

As it's a molded piece it would be a slow job to make one from scratch, especially with the engine in there.

You can also go to aviation sources and find all kinds of firewall materials. You'll have to cut to fit though.
